About Dwyfor Sustainable Supplies

The company was founded by Mark Richardson and Michael Squire, two people with a passion for Fairtrade.  The idea was to make it easier for cafes, hotels and businesses to source Fairtrade and ethical products.

Mark has been involved in Fair Trade since 1998.  Most recently running the campaign to make Wales the world’s first Fair Trade Country.  Michael was already running Dwyfor Coffee, a large and successful Fairtrade hot drinks company.

The result is a company with complete integrity and the ability to deliver a wide range of Fairtrade products reliably and at a competitive price.

Fair and green

We are very passionate about Fairtrade, but our passion for sustainability doesn’t end there.  We have introduced a new scheme called “Waste for Education”.

A growing business meant a growing waste pile! We decided to purchase a machine to pack our waste enabling it to be collected and recycled. A local recycling company buys the waste and any monies received are donated back to the local school.

We feel very proud that our efforts have been recognised.  In September 2007 Dwyfor became the first company ever to win the “Green Business Award” category in the Achievement Wales Awards.  But we promise we won’t rest on our green laurels.  We’ll keep looking for more ways to make our business even greener.
